FIND CALM, CONFIDENCE, AND A WAY FORWARD

There are things you want for your life:

  • Experiences you want to have

  • New ways you want to connect with others

  • Career or academic futures you dream about

  • Taking care of important responsibilities for your health, school, or career

  • Feeling confident to have tough conversations, set boundaries, or open up to the important people in your life

  • Feeling resilient as you handle the day-to-day

  • Being fully present when you’re with loved ones

  • Feeling comfortable in your own skin

  • [you tell me!]

It can be frustrating when anxiety and stress get in the way of the life you want. Maybe your mind is constantly racing, you’re worried about what others think, or you feel like you’re under pressure to keep up. Maybe you’re not even sure where it’s coming from, but when those sensations come up, it’s affecting your life. Whether you’re navigating school, work, relationships, family responsibilities, major life changes, or uncertainty about the future, sometimes it can simply feel like too much. While it can feel like our bodies and minds are sabotaging us, it’s actually our built-in defense system that is signaling that we need to change something.

If you’ve been feeling anxious, panicked, overwhelmed, or caught in cycles of worry and avoidance, therapy can help. Many people who seek anxiety treatment are intelligent, capable, hardworking, and accustomed to pushing through. Yet anxiety can leave you doubting yourself, avoiding things you value, or feeling frustrated that you can’t simply “get it together.”

I can help you understand your anxiety and develop ways to respond when it begins to interfere with your life. I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can talk openly about what you’re experiencing without feeling like you need to have everything figured out. Together, we’ll focus on what matters to you and develop practical approaches that fit your life.

Therapeutic Process

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based approach for anxiety that explores the connection between your thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, and behaviors. Together, we’ll identify patterns that may be keeping anxiety going and practice new ways of responding.

Therapy may help you:

  • Understand anxious and self-critical thoughts

  • Manage worry, stress, and uncertainty

  • Reduce avoidance and build confidence

  • Navigate difficult emotions

  • Set healthier boundaries

  • Develop practical coping skills

  • Feel more comfortable being yourself

  • Move toward the people, experiences, and goals that matter to you

The goal isn’t to eliminate every uncomfortable thought or feeling. It’s to help you understand yourself, develop skills that work for you, and keep anxiety from getting in the way of the life you want.

I provide therapy via telehealth to adults and teenagers in New Jersey and 40+ states via PSYPACT.

If your sleep is affected, too, I also provide specialized Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I).
